Haltinner and Dave Reese of Campbell Rees Architects in Salt Lake City worked together in developing plans. It was agreed that the church would put up the money and then turn the facility over to the state. Some $800,000 was budgeted by the church through Bishop H. The firm placed a bid of $687,000 for the project, which should be finished in approximately eight months.The project took a big step toward becoming a reality last February, when an appeal was made to general authorities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for funding. MGM Construction of North Salt Lake has broken ground for a non-denominational church at the Central Utah Correctional Facility in Gunnison.
